Q: How do I order a board?
A: You can order a board by going to the "Order Form" page on the menu, above. If you have a large order for an event or gathering, you may want to submit a catering inquiry through our "events and grazing" tab.
Q: What size are your boards and how many people do they feed?
A: All standard boards come in a 9 inch diameter round box. These boards are best suited for intimate gatherings such as date nights, or smaller groups of 2-4 people, depending on whether the board is used as a snack or as a whole meal (and how hungry you are!). We also offer personal-sized boxes for 1 person! When you order through our order form, you can select whether you want a standard sized or personal sized board.
Q: What is the difference between the Essentials, Seasonal, and Gourmet tiers?
A: All tiers come with some variety of cheese, charcuterie, and other accompaniments like fruit, jam, nuts, cornichhons, etc. The main difference between the tiers is the types of cheeses/meats/acompaniments that are included in each board.
Essentials: Includes our “essential” cheeses, charcuterie and accompaniments – tried and true cheeses/charcuterie that everyone is bound to love! These are cheeses/meats that are more commonly found, but still equally delicious!
Seasonal: Includes a mix of artisanal and essential cheeses and charcuterie. Accompaniments (fruits, etc.) vary based on seasonal availability. This is sort of a blend between the Essential and Gourmet tiers in terms of the types of cheeses/charcuterie included. Some are local/artisanal and others are more commonly found.
Gourmet: Features only small-batch, artisan cheeses from local farms, artisan and local charcuterie, seasonal accompaniments and other gourmet treats (i.e. honeycomb). This is the "top" tier of ingredients.
Q: How do I place a larger order, such as a grazing table, for a special event?
A: We love creating large format grazing boards for special occasions such as engagement parties, birthdays, housewarming parties, holidays, weddings, baby showers, and more! Bulk orders of our personal-sized boxes are also popular for corporate events and galas. Please fill out an inquiry form under the Events and Grazing tab of our website and we will get back to you with more information soon.
Q: How far in advance do I need to order?
A: For a standard board or personal box, we require 24 hours' notice. We ask for 72 hours' notice on orders for number boards. For a grazing table or larger board, we ask for one week's notice.
Q: I see on your order form that you only offer pick-up/delivery on Wednesdays - Sundays. What if I want to place an order for Monday and Tuesdays?
A: We are occasionally able to accommodate requests for Mondays and Tuesdays. Please contact us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone/text at 484-685-3875 to inquire. Our boards also last a couple of days if properly refrigerated, so another option is to order in advance. If you refrigerate your board, please make sure you let the cheese come back to room temperature before enjoying.
Q: How do deliveries work?
A: We currently deliver our standard round boards and our personal boxes to the Philadelphia area zip codes listed in the "Delivery Radius" page. Please select a time for delivery on the order form, and we will deliver sometime in the one hour following the time you select. We may be able to deliver outside of this radius depending on availability and size of the order for a fee of $35. If you want delivery outside of the radius, please contact us via phone call, text or email to inquire.
Q: How do pick-ups work?
A: We partner with three locations for pick-ups: The Bottle Shop (in Passyunk Square), Old Pine Community Center (in Society Hill) and Mural City Cellars (in Kensington) where you can pick up your board. On our order form, just select which location you'd like to pick up your board at and the the time you'd like to pick up your board. (Pro-tip: Mural City Cellars and The Bottle Shop both have indoor/outdoor seating and allow you to enjoy your board there with their selections of drinks!)
Q: What is your policy on cancellations?
A: Unfortunately we do not allow cancellations. If you need to reschedule your pick-up or delivery date, we can do that as long as we have 24 hours' notice.
Q: Can I reschedule my pick-up or delivery?
A: Yes! As long we we have 24 hours' notice we are able to reschedule pick up and deliveries. Please reach out to us at 484-685-3875 to reschedule.
Q: I have a dietary restriction. Can you still make me a board?
A: Yes! We are happy to work around dietary restrictions or food allergies. Please let us know if you have any allergies or restrictions on the order form. However, please note that we do work in a shared kitchen space and cannot guarantee that trace amounts of allergens won't be present in our boards. If you have a very serious allergy, we recommend you do not order from us.
Q: What is an "artisanal" cheese?
A: Artisanal cheeses are hand-crafted with milk from a known source. Our local and artisanal cheeses are made in small-batches almost exclusively made from the cheesemaker's own herd, which guarantees high quality milk and thus cheese.
Q: Do you offer any vegan cheeses?
A: Not at the moment because we haven't found the perfect vegan cheese yet. (On that note, please get in touch if you have a vegan cheese you love that is local to the Philadelphia area!)
Q: How long will my board last if unopened/uneaten?
A: We think our boards are best enjoyed the same day you get it, but they will last a few days if properly refrigerated. If you refrigerate the board, please make sure you let the cheese come back to room temperature before enjoying.
